About Us
Named more for its instrumentation and music selection than for its size, The Gallimaufry Orchestra is an atraditional gypsy, yodelling clavacade of Klezmar, Asiatic, Appalacian and European Folk Traditions. This quartet banded in 2003, performing with the San Francisco Bicycle Ballet, in the San Francisco Fringe Festival, in gypsy cafes and outdoor galas. Various members have been collaborating for years. Current and former Polkacide members, the Spoke Tones duo, and the Starfruit of the Baker's Dozen combine their eclectic interests into a jamboree of sound, fury and passion. It's a romping tour around the globe, from Moldavia to New Orleans.
